After blatantly infusing themselves into the theatrics of partisan politics, Major League Baseball officials are considering shifting the All-Star game from Atlanta to Denver.
What’s so ironic about the thought: Colorado has the same voter ID requirements as well as fewer early voting days than Georgia.
Several outlets reported that the development Monday, noting that the Colorado Rockies could host the All-Star match on July 13 rather than the Atlanta Braves.
The team made the choice to strip Georgia of their opportunity after left-wing hysteria within the nation’s recently passed voting legislation, which they claim to be”racist.”
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred made the announcement Friday.
“Over the last week, we have engaged in thoughtful conversations with Clubs, former and current players, the Players Association and the Players Alliance, among others, to listen to their views,” Manfred said.
“Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box,” he added. “Fair access to voting continues to have our game’s unwavering support.”
But, critics pointed out Monday that Colorado has the exact same voter ID requirements for peer voting as Georgia beneath their brand new legislation, as well as fewer times to vote ahead of time, as mentioned BizPacReview.
And,”campaign workers” can provide refreshments to voters waiting in line in Colorado, but they”may NOT campaign or wear any apparel or accessories bearing the name or image of a candidate, political party or ballot measure if they operate within 100 feet of the polling place.”
The law in Georgia allows poll workers to provide voters with refreshments while they wait patiently in line, but such as the Colorado law, it averts”electioneering” via refreshments.
What’s more, in Colorado, unemployment centers available 15 days before election day, but in Georgia they are available at least 17 days before adding weekends.
The hypocrisy is astounding.
If they want to help fuel the team-left storyline, perhaps they should consider moving the game elsewhere.
