The Hyper Light Drifter sequel Solar Ash got a brand new gameplay trailer in tonight’s Summer Game Fest, and it is looking as zippy, lively and downright trendy as ever. From the short video, we see the player personality skate their way up a tower to launch themselves onto the rear of a futuristic-looking flying dinosaur item, and glide across its wings to take it down.
At first I thought they might be removing some wicked needles from the aerial monster’s back, but after eliminating these metallic devices that they proceeded to the animal’s head and gave it a almighty stomp. The trailer cuts off shortly after that, so I don’t know, perhaps it may be friendly?
Solar Ash is a follow-up to Hyper Light Drifter, created by developers Heart Machine. It has a similar look and vibe to its predecessor, what with all that skating, but is in 3D this time, instead of 2D. It has plenty of lush sci-fi landscapes that I’m very much looking forward to visiting.
Now’s trailer was just a quick, appealing appearance at what is to come. However, in the end of the Summer Game Fest Day Of The Devs stream, publishers Annapurna declared their own announceathon stream for July 29th. You will find snippets of Solar Ash in their stream preview, so it appears likely we’ll see more of it afterward.
