Joanna Jedrzejczyk is hard at work in her bid to reestablish herself as one of the premiere fighters in women’s mixed martial arts, and apparently that work doesn’t come without breaking a few eggs.
The Polish former UFC women’s strawweight champion was out of the cage since a wonderful back-and-forth struggle with then-champ Zhang Weili in March of this past year but is still working towards making her return to the UFC cage at the coming months — but those strategies may be slightly postponed following Jedrzejczyk posted a picture to Instagram revealing a large gash to her .

“So you wanna be a Fighter?” She composed in accompaniment to the set of photos. “SWIPE left at your own risk. The good thing is that I can be back to training tomorrow morning. Big thanks to surgeon Bartek Maminski and @damianosmash for a quick and great hospitality on ER. @kamiliwanczyk we will be back!”
The nature of the injury appears as though it may have demanded some time off from the training area but amazingly the Pole says that she will be cleared to go back to coaching as soon as Tuesday.
Jedrzejczyk has indicated that she’s chasing a third struggle with reigning champion Rose Namajunas. Jedrzejczyk was conquered by Namajunas twice in succession in late 2017 and 2018. Their initial meeting, which happened in Madison Square Garden, was the first defeat of Jedrzejczyk’s career and resulted in a run of four struggles against just two wins in her recent career.
