In a nutshell: Ford is rolling out a new connected safety system that it expects will bring added reassurance to automobile owners. The smartphone-connected system is called SecuriAlert (previously Guard Mode), and is being rolled out to consumers for the first time following a successful launch with commercial vehicles before this season.
When triggered, SecuriAlert will send a notification to a car proprietor smartphone if the system finds specific vehicle action, like efforts to open a doorway or even if someone tries to get entry using a key.
